Earlier this year, ACAR reported that Cuyahoga County was considering updates to its conveyance standards. In accordance with the Ohio Revised Code, the County held two public meetings on the matter. ACAR, along with the Ohio Land Title Association and area real estate professionals, weighed in on the proposed changes.
After further review and amendments, the County published new conveyance standards. As this is a regulatory change, the Fiscal Officer and County Engineer issued the update. No action was needed from the County Council. The new standards primarily impact business entities buying or selling real estate in Cuyahoga County. Real estate professionals working with business entity clients may want to familiarize themselves with the new standards.
