The Summit County Land Bank and City of Akron have launched an initiative to make housing development easier and more accessible. The “Made in Akron” Housing Plans RFP seeks architects to design pre-reviewed home plans that will be available at little or no cost to residents and developers.
The selected architect will create at least four housing types, including single-family, age-in-place, duplex, and small multi-family homes. These permit-ready construction documents will be pre-reviewed by participating communities, eliminating costly delays and red tape in the building process.
Proposals are due November 12, 2025.
