ACAR participated in a University Heights public meeting on zoning reforms aimed at addressing the city’s housing shortage. With only a 1.5-month housing supply and median home prices up 14% to $285,000, demand remains strong.
ACAR highlighted the importance of allowing Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) by right across all residential zones to expand flexible and affordable housing options for seniors, young professionals, and homeowners. ACAR also voiced support for reducing minimum lot sizes, permitting townhomes and two-unit homes, and transforming Warrensville Center Road into a walkable, mixed-use corridor, key steps to attract reinvestment and sustain homeownership for future generations.
ACAR 2025 Treasurer Amanda Pohlman and Advocacy Representative Yariel Camacho attended the meeting to engage with city officials and residents.
