Summit County

Akron: Resolution No. 20-2026 supports the partnership between the City of Akron and Unify Akron to identify solutions to housing affordability challenges. The resolution declares the measure an emergency and supports collaborative housing strategy development.

Barberton: Ordinance No. 8-2026 adopts a new Development Code for the City of Barberton and declares the measure an emergency. The ordinance establishes updated regulations governing development standards and procedures within the City.

New Franklin: Ordinance No. 25-O-04 establishes regulations governing short-term rental operations within the City. The ordinance outlines operational requirements and oversight for short-term rental properties. The legislation is currently pending.

Cuyahoga County

Cuyahoga County: Ordinance No. O2025-0011 establishes the right of county renters to utilize Pay-to-Stay provisions and declares the necessity for the ordinance to become immediately effective. The legislation is currently pending.

Cleveland Heights: Resolution No. 223-2025 authorizes the Mayor to execute a contract with Stantec Consulting Services, Inc. to prepare a Housing Needs Assessment for the City. The resolution was adopted as emergency legislation and has passed.

University Heights: Ordinance No. 2026-13 establishes Section 1480.17 of the City Housing Code regulating exterior lighting requirements for one-, two-, and three-family residential properties. The ordinance was adopted to protect public health, safety, and welfare and becomes effective at the earliest date permitted by law.

University Heights: Ordinance No. 2026-12 extends the moratorium on sidewalk repair and replacement citations and enforcement actions, except for point-of-sale inspection repair directives. The moratorium is extended through April 30, 2026, while the City continues reviewing and amending its sidewalk ordinance. The ordinance was adopted as an emergency measure and takes effect immediately upon passage and mayoral approval.
